Member Disaster Relief, Inc. provides humanitarian assistance to Project Management Institute (PMI) members in connection with catastrophic losses following natural or man-made disasters. The 501(c)3 (Tax ID #43-2089841) charitable organization provides assistance in meeting immediate needs such as food, clothing, shelter. It also provides assistance for employment, legal needs and coping. Its Member-to-Member Program provides one-on-one overall assistance to the member-in-need by other PMI members and the public not affected by the disaster. The intent of MDRI is to help the PMI member-in-need become reasonably self-sufficient and on the road to recovery without sole reliance on traditional public charities.
