Dr. Joseph Amanfu, PMP

amanfuJoe has 38 years experience in the corporate world, with the last 11 years managing Hewlett-Packard’s worldwide telecom projects. As a Senior Global Program Manager, he was very successful in relationship building and leadership development. He completed leadership assignments in Brazil, Canada, Germany, Ghana, Japan, Nigeria, Sierra-Leone, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey and the USA. He has served as officer in several professional organizations in different countries. He was certified by Boston University to teach in their Management Development Programs and was an instructor in project management at the Graduate School of Engineering at the Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Plano, Texas. He is also a Certified Life and Leadership Coach with clients in different countries. Dr. Amanfu is the President and CEO of Seed Word Communications LLC, a Tallahassee-based company, providing coaching and services in Leadership Development, Book Publishing and Public Speaking.

Robert Keyt, PMP

KeytRobert has been a member of the Tallahassee PMI Chapter and a Project Manager at FLDEP since 2003. Bob was one of the first volunteers for the Chapter, setting up informational material and sample publications at Chapter meetings in 2003 and 2004. He has prior volunteer leadership experience as a 7-G Credit Union Board member and as a church trustee and board member. Bob is currently Secretary of the Countryside at Benjamin's Run Homeowners Association and a governing Elder at Lafayette Presbyterian Church.

Paul Bessent Mahoney, PMP, MBA

Paul joined ACS, A Xerox Company, on Tuesday, September 6th, 2006. The contract he is engaged on is with the Federal Government’s Department of Labor (DOL). He supports the financial, operational and projects based needs of DOL’s workers compensation medical bill processing and call center operations

His professional background is in banking, accounting, finance and project management. Prior to his current role at ACS he was the Business Manager for Telecommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) in Tampa. His division made highly sophisticated deployable communication equipment sold primarily to the military and government. Prior to working for TCS he was a Financial Analyst, Accountant and Project Manager in an Aerospace business unit for Honeywell, Inc., based out of Sarasota, FL. He completed the Honeywell Six Sigma Plus Green Belt certification program in 2004.

Before starting at Honeywell in 2003 Paul was a Financial Analyst & Project Accountant with the Hewlett Packard Consulting (HPC) division. After working closely with the projects, project managers and consultants,  he joined the team as a Project Manager. He became a certified PMP in December, 2002. After various roles, mentioned above, he re-certified as a PMP this past June, 2011.

On a personal note, Paul is from Jacksonville, FL. He graduated from The Florida State University with an MS in Business Management. He received his MBA with a specialization in International Business from Georgia State University. He moved back to Tallahassee in 2006 to be closer to his family and return to his north Florida roots. He is also preparing to pursue a Masters of History from The FSU, specializing in the Civil War in Florida.

Darlene A. Long, PMP

Darlene has over 20 years experience in project management. She has worked for the Division of Community Colleges, State University System, Department of Transportation, Agency for Health Care Administration, Department of Environmental Protection, Leon County, and Department of Health in various capacities including technical, applications development, and chief information officer. Darlene retired from state government in 2005, and went into project management, receiving her PMP Certification July, 2006. Darlene has been a member of the Project Management Institute and the Tallahassee Chapter since 2005, and has served on the Communications Committee and Membership Committee. She provides information to the members of various organizations and groups to which she belongs, and is dedicated to timely response to emails and other types of communication.

Patricia Norris, PMP

Vice President Financial Affairs

NorrisPatricia has more than 34 years experience in state government and is currently a Project Manager with the Agency for Health Care Administration in the Medicaid Project Management Office. She provided leadership in IT for over 20 years in several agencies including, HRS, the Information Resource Commission, Labor and Employment Security, State Technology Office and Agency for Persons with Disabilities.   Patricia worked 7 years in finance and accounting at FSU, Labor and Employment Security, and Banking and Finance, before becoming involved in IT and Project Management. She graduated from FSU in Business Administration and earned her PMP in 2005.

Justin Mills

Justin Mills manages an IT group within the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FLDEP). He has a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science from Florida State University (FSU), is ITIL certified, and has been a member of the Tallahassee chapter of PMI since 2010. As a Project Manager and Developer he has delivered several web-based applications to FLDEP customers. As an IT Manager he has achieved success by introducing the Scrum framework to several project teams, and is a strong believer in Agile methodologies.

Cheryl Walters, MBA, PMP

Cheryl Walters, MBA, PMP, brings a wide array of knowledge to the Tallahassee PMI Chapter with more than twenty years of Project Management experience.  Her work experience spans 22 years with the State of Florida and 27 years with the U.S. Air Force.  Currently working with the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, she has been involved with numerous Project Management initiatives, most notably creating and standing up a Statistics Unit within the Division of Driver Licenses.  A Major in the U.S. Air Force, Cheryl promoted through the ranks from an active duty enlisted member to a commissioned officer in the Air National Guard, where she’s been involved in projects at varying levels of responsibility from inception to implementation, operational maintenance and process improvement.  Cheryl  has a Bachelor Degree in Multinational Business and an MBA from Florida State University and is currently pursuing her Certification in Public Management.  She is also a member of several professional and military organizations, to include the Military Officers Association, the Air Force Association and two National Guard Associations.

Fran Buie MS, PMP

FranFran has more than 30 years experience in state government working as an Educational Data Analyst, a Statistician Supervisor and an Economist.  Her most recent experience is as a Project Manager supervising the development of a large automated data management system.  As a project manager, she coordinated a training program to assist project team members' development and improve their skills.  This was accomplished through formal classes and attendance at workshops and seminars.  Since retiring from the state, she has worked as an adjunct instructor at FAMU College of Pharmacy and FSU College of Medicine.  She has also taught classes for the American Red Cross, and at various facilities here in Tallahassee.  She believes that continuing education and professional development are key to an individual's quality of life.
