June 7 Topic: Leadership
The PMI-TLH Chapter 1st VP and President-Elect, Dr. Joseph Amanfu, presented in place of the scheduled Speaker when we found out on the day of our meeting that the scheduled speaker had a health emergency.
Dr. Amanfu engaged the audience in fierce conversations on two of Dr. John C. Maxwell’s 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership (The Law of Influence and the Law of Connection). He also led a discussion on the following Five Levels of Leadership (Level 1 being the Lowest and 5 being the highest):
- POSITION [Rights]: People follow you because they have to
- PERMISSION [Relationships]: People follow you because they want to
- PRODUCTION [Results]: People follow you because of what you have done for the organization
- PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT [Reproduction]: People follow you because of what you have done for them
- PERSONHOOD [Respect]: People follow you because of who you are and what you represent
