Dr. Mark Huston will be delivering a presentation on Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V)

Program:

Dr. Huston will speak on the role of project manager relating to independent verification and validation audits. This role involves facilitating external independent audits for managed projects and the conducting of independent audits for non-managed external projects. Dr. Huston has considerable expertise in this area and will share his experiences and perspectives.

The presentation will include:

  • Case Studies in IV&V Project Management Assessment

  • A review of several project plans from major projects

  • An all-too-familiar story of supposed unlimited labor, no task dependencies and no cost accountability

         (We have all seen it, but how does this happen?)

 

The evening's Dinner will include:

About Dr. Mark Huston:

  • Dr. Huston currently works as the Sr. Consultant and Project Manager For The DOH Project Management Office and Children’s Medical Services, Department of Health, State of Florida.

  • Dr. Huston has over 34 years of IT Consulting experience in the private sector and Local, State, Federal government operations.

  • He holds a BA, MA, MBA, PhD in Economics and Business Administration. In addition, he has over 600 hours (98 Units) of formal programming training and holds Master’s Certificates in IT Project Management, Applied Project Management, Business Analysis and IT Security.

  • Dr. Huston is certified by the Project Management Institute (#53592, through the year 2015.)

  • He is the author of three books (McGraw-Hill) and the Library of Congress in Economic Analysis and Resource Allocation. ISBN-0-07-031813-1

  • He is an recognized expert in Project Management, Project Management Office Operations, Business Process Improvement, Business Process Reengineering, Business Analysis, As-Is To-Be, Requirements Analysis, Project Deliverable Production and has extensive systems development experience.
