Jan Wright

Jan has worked in Information Technology for over thirty years in both the private and public sectors, with experience in applications development, strategic planning, information security, network and desktop support, IT budgeting and cost allocation. Jan has a MBA from Florida State University and a BS in Mathematics. Jan has authored newsletters and web pages for her previous private and public sector employers, the Florida Certified Public Managers and the Department of Juvenile Justice.  Jan believes the local PMI chapter in Tallahassee will serve as a catalyst for the members to guide their organizations through the development of and transition to improved Project Management techniques and skills.

Brenda Owens
, PMP
Brenda is former CIO at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and is a PMP. Brenda has worked in all aspects of IT over the past 30 years including operations, data communications, system development and management. Brenda has an MPA from Florida State University and is a graduate of the Chief Executive Seminar. Brenda is president of NLETS and serves on several national technology boards. Brenda believes that with the proliferation of projects in government and private enterprises and the recognition of project management as a desired skill, the Tallahassee PMI Chapter can be a leader in the development of project managers and in demonstrating the benefits appropriate project management can bring to an organization .

Lisa Bess
, PMP
Lisa Bess is a consultant with the North Highland Company with over 27 years of IT Development experience primarily with the Department of Defense (DOD), NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and the following state agencies: The Department of Financial Services, Department of Revenue, Department of Corrections, Office of Financial Regulations, Department of Health and Department of Transportation. Lisa’s experience consists of eleven years of project management, ten years in the acquisition and development of weapons systems and testing of orbit related software and fifteen years of system and user acceptance testing. Lisa has training/certifications in Project Management, Organizational Change Management and Six Sigma (Greenbelt).

Sonja Guthrie
, PMP
Joined PMI in 2004 and received PMP Certification in March, 2005.   Holds a position in the Program Management Office at the Florida Department of Health as a Project Manager. Her background is in Information Technology and was a Project Leader in the Lottery's MIS Division, for over a decade responsible for all functions of IT end-user services. Her formal schooling was focused on the business-side of IT and she obtained a Bachelors Degree in MIS in 2000. She currently is a member of Capital City Toastmasters and volunteers with the Disaster Services division of the American Red Cross. Her most recent volunteer experience was working on an international team of project managers to develop a Disaster Coordination Framework Methodology for Project Management Institute, Inc. that may be published next in 2007.

Nicholas Clarke
, PMP
Joined PMI in 2005 and obtained his PMP June 2005.  His 12+ years of experience serving the Tallahassee area as an Information Technology specialist and project manager in a wide variety of industries, including media, financial, and public sector. The projects he has been involved with span the systems development life-cycle, and included customer advocacy systems, multi-media content management systems, corporate identity design, as well as general visual design projects in print, web, and other forms of media. He graduated Florida State University with a degree in English.

Shawn Aucutt
, PMP
Shawn Aucutt is from Cedar Rapids Iowa. He and wife Brittney graduated from the University of Iowa. Shawn is a PMP certified Project Manager, and also holds a Masters Certificate in Project Management from Villanova University. Shawn has enjoyed a successful career as a Project Manager within the Telecommunications, Intelligent Transportations Systems, and Defense industries. Shawn was an invitee to NASA’s 5th annual Masters PM forum in 2002. Shawn is currently a Principal with AP Professional Services, and is working in Tallahassee, FL and Santa Monica, CA.

Evelyn J. González, MBA, PMP  
Evelyn J. Gonzalez has been a member of PMI for 10 years and received her PMP certification in 2003. As a senior project manager and senior analyst, she has experienced seemingly the entire gamut of IT positions, including business-to-business sales, systems analysis and design, software development, and project management. Her favorite and most challenging venue is project management, in particular project risk analysis and project rescue and recovery. Evelyn is delighted to be serving as the new VP of Programs for the PMI Tallahassee Chapter, and plans to attract nationally-recognized talent to re-energize the Chapter meetings; diversify dinner menu options; and, work with the Professional Development and Communications Committees to bring “PDUs for Pennies” to Tallahassee as well as more effectively collaborate with other Southeast Region PMI Chapters.
